What We Do
_________________________

Strategic Planning
Working together as a team, we define client goals and objectives are and how to achieve them by developing a plan of action.

Objectives paint the overall picture. For example, a client's objective can be: "to increase awareness of the business and book more business".

Strategies support the objective. The strategy to support the stated objective could include:
1) Identify potential customers; who they are, what their buying habits are.
2) Identify the most cost-effective ways to reach potential customers, via website, direct mail, print advertising, pre-produced presentation, etc.
3) Develop a budget, create various media, distribute the message and measure the results.

Define Goals - Build a Strategy - Implementation - Achieve Desired Results

Web Development

Creating a website for the first time can be a daunting process. In the event that you are in this situation, be assured that MPI excels at "hand-holding" a client through the new jargon and "techno talk". Our approach to every step of the process is to be as thorough as possible in order to make every detail easily understood. We encourage questions upon questions and make every effort to insure that you are comfortable and knowledgeable about the process.

Above all, MPI understands that your website needs to be "Search Engine friendly". Each of the services listed below reinforces this "friendliness" goal. In our view, a website without traffic is meaningless.

By making your website easy to find, easy to navigate and interesting to visit, you will be building your presence on the web as a quality content provider.

All websites are programmed to be "responsive" to any device in use, from desktop to pad, to phone. Websites should be served from a secure server, showing that the website has an SSL certificate. This is a must in today's search environment and especially if collecting any data from site visitors.

Like any visual presentation, successful websites have to begin with a solid strategy. Our first priority is to determine your needs and plot a plan that will achieve the maximum return for your investment and efforts. We work with you as partners, identifying and defining your goals, determining your competition, researching the market and determining the most effective way to achieve results with your website.

Once your goals have been determined, we then develop two concurrent areas: the information, or content for your site and the visual design. Both are developed to portray and send the right message(s); those that fulfill your defined goals for the site and to insure that the structure of the site is friendly to the user and information is easily accessible. Your presence on the world wide web depends on how easy it is for users to access your information and if appropriate, place orders on-line for your products.

The "look' should reflect your business's image. The design should support your corporate identity standards. Consistency with Sales, Marketing and Public Relations efforts is mandatory.

We work with you as a team to meld creativity with functionality. This collaboration offers you a truly customized approach to your website; one that fits your needs and achieves the goals you have set for the site.

Test Your Site and Launch It! Prior to launching your website, we test it to insure full functionality and usability. Once you are fully satisfied with the site, we can assist you with the hosting, search engine registration and maintenance. One of the biggest mistakes that clients make is to assume that people will flock to your site simply because it is there!

Regularly updating your website offers repeat visitors new information. This will help to drive traffic to your site as well. Areas in the website will be identified for updating on a regular basis. The goal is to become one of those "favorites" on site visitor's browser list.

URL Registration and Re-directs

Universal Resource Locator, or (URL) is the name of your website i.e., www.mycompanyname.com. URL is also synonymous with "Domain Name". In addition to your main URL, clients often will register other URL's that are set-up to "re-direct" to their main domain name.

It is strongly recommended that a website have at least one category-specific Domain Name. For example, if your company's name is "EZFood" (a delivery service of pre-cooked meals) and your domain name is ezfood.com, then the only way that people could find you through search engines is by entering your company's name: EZFood. However, potential customers who are looking for "delivery of pre-cooked meals" may enter that term or other terms into a search engine and EZFood.com would not rank highly.

If you register, "precookedmeals.com", this URL can be set-up to "re-direct" to your main URL, EZFood.com, and result with a better chance of being found via search engines.

Whether your URL is a new or and existing name, and is not a category-specific name, you will want to consider registering a second domain name to serve this purpose. It is a small investment that can pay-off and increased traffic.

MPI can assist in identifying URLs that clearly identify what your business offers and assist you with the registration. Once registered, the name(s) will be accessible on a "domain name server", where the name(s) will reside for the life of the registration term. We recommend to register the URL with the same company that is hosting the website for ease of record keeping.

URL registration includes:
- Checking the availability of a particular domain name or domain names.
- Registering the URL for one year, or multiple years.

Architectural Navigation

Navigation refers to the links that are created within your website as well as links that access links outside of your website. Prior to programming, a navigation chart is developed. In its final form, the navigation chart offers a blueprint for the entire website, and shows you what pages are linked internally as well as externally. Based on the architectural navigation (and the design), programming is next. The goal is to offer the site visitor an easy to understand interface.

Architectural Navigation includes:
- Development of a flow chart which identifies all internal and external links within your website.
- Consideration of Search Engines' crawling through text links.
- User interface for ease of use; possible use of pull-down menus and other interactive programming.

Design Services
The design of your website should support the "Branding" of the Company. The overall "look" and visual presentation of your website pages need to reflect the personality of your business. And it should support any other graphic materials that your company has, or is releasing to customers/consumers.

There are two choices for Design:
-Original Graphic Design
-Custom Template Design

The design can be "custom", where page elements and overall page layouts are completely unique.

Site designs can incorporate pre-existing "templates", which can lower the overall design costs which it takes to create and produce. The approach is to utilize existing graphic elements such as navigation bars, dividers, other graphic elements, and customizing them to fit the needs of the new design with color, fonts and sizing.

First, a color palette is developed and approved. Next, page layouts are developed. Once the design has approval, the content is developed and worked into the design, and forwarded to for programming.

Design includes:
- Development of a color palette from consumer tested color schemes.
- Creating page layouts.
- Selecting a pre-produced "templates" to incorporate into the design.
- Finalizing the page layouts and obtaining approval prior to programming.

Content and Copy Writing
Internet trade sources proclaim again and again that "content is key". Not only will your target audience appreciate good text on your home page and subsequent pages, but so will Search Engines. Part of copy writing for the web is to think about what your audience wants, and include search terms that your audience might use to search for your site. The overall message should present the benefits of the client's products and services, structured to induce site visitors to take some action. MPI works closely with you to develop copy that is both informative and "search engine friendly".

Copy Writing includes:
- Development of text to support your products, services and offerings.
- Research what search terms are used by people who are looking for your
type of products and services, and incorporating those terms into the copy.

Programming
Programming involves the development of Hypertext Mark-up Language (HTML), which is universally recognized by website browsers, to display your website's content. In the programming phase, the Navigation, Design and Page Layouts are converted into HTML code. MPI also may use JavaScript for specific applications. And, depending on client needs, MPI will add database capability to the website.

During the programming process, website content is processed for optimum loading time, balanced with aesthetic considerations, such as image quality and font selections. Additional content such as Streaming media (audio and video),
Gif animation, animated cursors, scroll bars, forms and interactive buttons are embedded into the HTML code as needed.
And to help satisfy website visitors with special needs, we insure that images and graphics include "alt text" to make the website more user friendly.

Today's websites also must be "responsive", or able to adapt to the device that the end user is viewing the website.
In the event that the client chooses to make changes on their own, a Content Management System (CMS) can be added to an html website, or one of several CMS programs (such as WordPress or other) can be implemented.

Once completed, the program is tested for compatibility with the popular web browsers and screen resolutions used by site visitors.

E-commerce

The temptation to sell products and services via the internet is compelling. Surveys suggest there are well over 100 million Internet subscribers in North America alone. The rest of the world offers even more opportunities for sales of your products and services.

MPI has created websites to sell products and information online. Although the mechanics of building an e-commerce site are very similar to an "informational" website, there are essential business considerations.

Before embarking on the creation of an e-commerce website, it is important to realize that such a site is an extension of your core business. How will it support what you are doing now? Is the site a natural extension of how you do business now and does it support projections for future growth?

Planning is key and will help to insure the success of an e-commerce site.
With the planning and marketing strategy in place, building an e-commerce site can go in several directions. Answering the following questions gives us direction on how to proceed:

- How many products do you intend to sell on the internet?
- Are my products priced competitively?
- How do you envision completing the transaction?
- Are you prepared to ship immediately?

Beyond the mechanics of creating an e-commerce website, clients need to have order fulfillment and customer service in place and ready to respond within minutes of online customers' needs.

Streaming Media
A video clip…a message via audio; all contribute to retaining site visitors and can be designed to invite the site visitor to "take action". MPI creates fresh material for clients…or, we can take existing video and audio, converting it into streaming media files.

Website Updating & Maintenance

A website needs to be maintained, with new material updating the site on a regular basis. Updating your content is important to building traffic with repeat site visitors, who can count on new information. Not keeping website content current regarding products, services or information can hurt your bottom line. When visitors find outdated or erroneous information, they tend not to revisit your site. It can be extremely difficult to get them back.
Updating & Maintenance can include:
- Changes to content i.e., text, photos, graphics, animation, sound, video, etc.
- Checking internal and external links.
- Checking overall functionality.
- Correcting any issues.
MPI is proud of our service record having delivered website updates typically within 24 hours, or less.

Website Audits/Tune-ups
Clients have used our services to examine and offer suggestions for an existing website. In these cases, a website "tune-up" is in order and we look for the three "C's" i.e., content, consistency and code. A written report is supplied at which point MPI is typically engaged to perform the necessary updates/revisions.

Hosting Registration

All of the files and architecture of your website are sent via the Internet to a website hosting company. In essence, this is where your website "lives". MPI offers recommendations for web hosting. The recommendations are based on the specific needs of the website.
Hosting can include:
- A set amount of available space for the amount of data your website needs.
- Availability of SSL Certificate through a third party supplier or though the hosting company.
- A set amount of traffic allocated for your website i.e., so many Megabytes, or Gigabytes of data transfer per month.
- Email account(s).
- Specific options such as basic traffic statistics, streaming media, server-side programming functionality, various extensions, Shopping Cart interfaces, etc.
- Registering website with the Hosting Company for one year, or multiple years.
- Client to supply credit card information for direct billing from Hosting Company.

Traffic Reporting
In knowing where your traffic comes from and what pages they have visited and how they got there, is important information to understanding your visitors/customers. By fine-tuning your site's content will boost traffic and bring in quality site visitors. The traffic report at a minimum will show you important data that will help to optimize your site for both the site visitor and for those all important Search Engines.

MPI offers two options of traffic reporting:

Hosting Company Reports
Basic traffic reporting software, offering key web traffic parameters.
Performed by Media People; Fee based on a 12-month contract that includes one hour of service per month.

Basic Written Report

Marketing Services

In our view, there is one reason to put all of the effort and expense in marketing: to increase sales and build business. In addition to developing and producing award-winning media, we are driven to achieve results for clients. These results are measured in increased sales and awareness of our client's products and services.

Print Advertising
In this age of electronic and digital media, traditional forms of media cannot be overlooked in an overall marketing plan. MPI identifies and recommends print outlets that will reach the target audience in the largest numbers, for the best cost to the client.

As with any form of advertising, consistency is key to an effective print advertising effort. Once a publication or publications have been selected, clients are encouraged to run ads for several months or longer in order to build name and brand recognition with recipients of the publication.

We are selective in where we place our client's ads and spend their money. Proven results show that having one excellent Ad placed in one key media can reap high returns. Publications are considered from a carefully researched and examined "short list"…those reaching the most potential customers. The cost of placement is considered and is part of the overall marketing plan.

Beyond advertising, clients are encouraged to submit articles, since many of our clients are experts in their field. MPI can find the right vehicle for an article and the exposure in various print media can be as beneficial as a paid advertisement.

In addition, a printed newsletter can offer customers useful information and can be used to position a client as the "expert"; a relied-upon source of knowledge. The newsletter can be used to support other marketing efforts, in particular, offering a link to a website is a good way to drive traffic and repeat visitors to the site.

Internet Marketing
Unlike other advertising i.e., Yellow Pages, Newspaper, Magazine, Radio, T.V. etc…
The actual number or website visitors can be managed and monitored (through traffic reporting). This gives you the ability to accurately measure the response to your marketing efforts. Your website should be thought of as a living, breathing entity, one which changes as you and your business or profession changes.

Building an internet marketing plan should be a part of a clients' overall marketing plan. The plan should support the company objectives and in doing so will offer a consistency in the presentation and the message. This is very important when building brand awareness.

Making customers aware of who you are, what you offer and how to contact you…or purchase your products is a central theme in most websites.

Our approach to internet marketing includes a variety of tools and techniques which are discussed on the web development pages in this site. The ultimate goal is to turn "site visits" into "site actions", enticing visitors to act, not just read. Converting visitors to act is a result of believing that you the client has a solution to a problem or need.

To increase "site actions", part of our job is to work with a client to diagnose visitor need, deliver the message of being able to meet that need and encourage the site visitor to take action…in the first two or three pages.

The most valuable "real estate" on a client's website is the Home Page. The page should be designed to encourage action.

Whether a client has an existing site or employs us to build a new website, we make sure that marketing is considered throughout the process of building and/or re-building a website. From naming the site, to designing the page layouts, to programming and building html code that is "search engine friendly", we consider "marketability" in every step.

Once a client's site is on the net, the promotional machinery is put in place. From registering with Search Engines and Directories to e-mail marketing, our goal is to build traffic, increase awareness and achieve results.

Search Engine Optimization
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is like fine-tuning a hand-built, custom car. Your website was customized for your specific business needs. Fine tuning your website to rank with Search Engines takes various factors into account; the key factor being: What each particular search engine looks for in a website. MPI's resources keep a pulse on what the major search engines look for.

Search Engine Optimization includes:
- Keyword research and selection.
- Keyword measurement of popularity (from previous month data).
- Reciprocal Linking to other websites, and to Social Media outlets.
- Analysis of each page's content for overall relevancy.
- HTML code to content ratio.
- Navigation and design considerations.

Search Engine Marketing
Driving Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Consumer (B2C) can often take more than a building a site and hoping that "they will come.." With Search Engine Optimization in place, MPI takes the process a step further with Search Engine Marketing. This aspect supports the overall marketing effort and may include:

- Market analysis and strategy
- Competitor site analysis as it relates to the client
- Development of an Internet marketing campaign
- Determine Social Media activities
- Identification and procurement of URL's with re-directs
- Scheduled review of Key Words and Key Phrases
- Web traffic reporting with action items based on the data
- Pay per click campaign with the top search engines

Search Engine Registration
One of the best ways to increase traffic to your site is to register with search engines. People who are searching for information on the world wide web will find you if you are listed. We have the resources and the tools to get your website listed with the world's top portal sites. And, once you are listed, we have reporting software can track your visitors. This information will offer you valuable feedback from your traffic.

Before Search Engines can find your website, your site must be listed in the respective Search Engine's data base. MPI will register your website with the most widely used Search Engines. Each individual search engine updates their data base on differing time schedules. It may take up to 2 months to be listed.

Search Engine Registration includes:
- Developing a website description that contains key words and phrases used by people looking for products and services similar to what you are offering.
- Registering with the major search engines.
- Registering with Directories used by major search engines.
- Registering website for one year.

Electronic Newsletters (eNewsletters, eAnnouncements, eSurveys and eVites)
Sharing experiences and knowledge with your industry peers and customers is one of the best ways to build credibility and can position you as an "expert", and/or "leader" in your field. eNewsletters, eAnnouncements, eSurveys and eVites can help to track results, communicate quickly and build relationships. By reaching out to your email list, MPI can help to drive traffic to your website.

With an e-mail newsletter, you deliver useful content to your customers and prospects, strengthening relationships and promoting a positive, helpful image for your business and encouraging repeat visits to your website.

Clients rely on MPI to send the newsletter in multiple formats so that all recipients receive the correct form for their individual email application. Although most email users can receive HTML documents, plain text documents are formatted and sent simultaneously. Many large companies and organizations' IT departments only allow plain text for distribution via their network.

Database Management efforts focus on building a valid and useful list of email addresses. Once the email campaign has been sent, we can review any "bounce backs", can track "opens", "click throughs", subscribes and unsubscribes to maintain the list.

All email campaigns produced and managed by MPI comply with the CAN-SPAM Act.

In addition to the electronic form, the electronic newsletter can be created for printed formatting, allowing clients to send, or hand out a hard copy.

MPI Services:
- Design
- Production
- Copy writing for content
- Interviewing key individuals
- Editorial Proofing
- Programming HTML and plain text versions
- Database management

Media production

The principals at Media People International have 40 years of experience. The firm is rooted in film and video production. Over the years, MPI has had numerous client requests to supply other forms of media; print, digital, web. As a result, Media People International considers itself "media independent"; capable of delivering a client's message in virtually any form of media.

Concept - Design
The Creative aspects of producing a first quality website, video program or other media can include:
- Conceptualization
- Script writing
- Selecting talent for on-camera and/or voice-over narration
- Soundtrack production
- Computer/Video/Web graphics
- Show design
- Scene selections
- Off-line and on-line editing.

Each project takes on its own unique look, customized to reach your audience. You are involved all of the way; we insist on a continual dialog with our clients.

Script Development
In most cases, the projects we work on begin with a script. Once the development of an overall concept is approved by a client, script writing begins. At MPI, we generally develop an outline of content, which offers the client a general feel for the flow for the script. Next, the copy is written….to tell a story with a specific purpose. Depending on the needs of the particular project, MPI may employ freelance scriptwriters to complete the task. In other cases, a client may have written copy for incorporation into the script. In this instance, the text is "wordsmithed" to support the concept and to insure consistency and style.

Video Production
Video. You see it every day. Over the air, via cable, satellite, at trade shows, sales meetings, and now on the internet.

Regardless of the delivery system, the communication power is without question. Media People International offers professional video production services that put this communication power to work for your corporation... marketing products, services, and capabilities ...explaining a process to employees and answering questions from potential customers.

If you've read our backgrounds on company profile page, you'll see that we've been building our technical expertise for 40 years. Today, we deliver the best possible technical solutions to your project.

We select the video technology that suits the project. Video shoots are handled via "film style". where shots are planned out in advance; each filling the needs of the script. We shoot full bandwidth, uncompressed video to offer you the best image acquisition. The highest of technical standards are maintained with one goal in mind...to offer you "The Best".

Global Scope
Productions have taken us throughout the continental United States and destinations around the world. If budget does not allow us to travel and shoot, we hire local production crews to obtain the necessary footage. We can "cover the world" and deliver the cutting edge technology that our clients need to compete in an industry where television and the entire media universe are rapidly converging.

Audio Production
Audio production is the process of building a sound track; the narration, the music, the sound effects. All of us have seen presentations with poor sound tracks; leaving us with a similar impression. On the other hand, a presentation with marginal visual quality can be greatly enhanced by a well-produced sound track. In this case, the audio made all the difference.
